Tina and Johannes started playing together in the summer of 2015. They instantly found a mutual way of working with music. As a duo, they aim at creating a listening and intimate space on stage, with clear musical intention and expression that reach the audience.

This year their recital program includes works of Beethoven and Mahler amongst other.

Johannes plays the cello in the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. As a chamber musician he has played at several festivals such as Risør Chamber Music Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Festspillene in Bergen, Elverum festspill, Hardanger Music Festival, Olavfestdagene, Ultima and Kongsberg jazz festival, and he has participated in many acclaimed chamber music recordings that have been very well received by the national and international press.

Martens has been a soloist with several orchestras and had solo cello engagements in KORK and The National Opera Orchestra.

He has his bachelor- and master studies from Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Leonard Stehn as a teacher. And he also studied with Truls Mørk at the soloist diploma studies at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway.

In addition to his passion for contemporary classical music, he also plays viola da gamba. Martens has collaborated with great jazz and folk musicians in addition to being a certified yoga teacher and teaching Timani for musicians.

Martens plays on a cello made by F. Rugeri fra 1690 that he is borrowing from Sparebankstiftelsen Dextra Musica.
